Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the very first edition of The Detail Formula Journal.

If you've followed The Detail Formula for a while, you've probably noticed a shift in the content we've been creating lately. Less polished advertising, more behind the scenes. More of the journey.

That's intentional.

The Detail Formula has never just been about selling detailing products. It's about building something meaningful from the ground up. Like many of you, I'm juggling a full-time job, family life, and every spare hour I can find to grow a business I genuinely love and believe in.

This journal is my way of bringing you along for the ride.

this months wins

Looking back, there have been a few moments that reminded me we're moving in the right direction.

• We welcomed new trade customers to The Detail Formula.

• Orders continued heading out around New Zealand.

• The workshop took another big step forward and is getting closer to becoming the space I've imagined for a long time.

• We've committed to creating more videos than ever before, sharing not just products, but the process of building this business.

They're not huge milestones on paper, but they're all steps in the right direction.

Behind the workshop

One thing that's become clear this month is that people aren't just interested in the products, they're interested in the story.

The late nights packing orders.

The weekends building the workshop.

Trying to squeeze filming, website updates, and customer support around a full-time job.

For a long time, I thought I needed to hide all of that and only show the finished result.

Lately I've realised the unfinished version is far more interesting.

The workshop still isn't finished.

There's still plenty to build.

But that's exactly the point.

You're watching it happen in real time.

P&S BEAD MAKER

Every month I'll share one product that I genuinely think deserves a place in your garage.

This month it's P&S Bead Maker.

Not because it's the newest product or the most expensive, but because it's one of those products that simply makes maintaining a vehicle easier. Whether you're looking after your own car or keeping customers happy between major details, it's one of those bottles I always find myself reaching for.

Sometimes the products you use most aren't the flashy ones, they're the ones that quietly do their job every single wash.

Progress Over Perfection

Building a business has taught me something recently. People don't connect with perfection. They connect with progress. It's easy to think every video has to be perfect or every project has to be finished before you share it.

The reality is, most of the messages I receive are about the moments in between. The workshop build. Learning something new. Trying an idea that might not work.That's what I'll keep sharing.

The Next Chapter

Here's what I'm chasing over the next month:

• Finish the workshop fit-out.

• Install the cabinets and create a dedicated filming space.

• Keep producing consistent videos that document the journey.

• Continue growing our trade network around New Zealand.

• Prepare for the arrival of our next generation ceramic coatings, NXTZEN.

I'll let you know how many of those we tick off in next month's journal.
